And while the studio is yet to release its debut project, it now employs a number of Obsidian and inXile veterans, as well as some promising fresh faces from the team behind Disco Elysium. Isn't there a Maddie here? I know what goes on over there on Discord with the fur-people.ĭon't normally write this much, or with such gravitas.GameBanshee has interviewed George Ziets about his current projects: George Ziets Interviewīack in 2019, during a Matt Chat episode, George Ziets told the world about Digimancy Entertainment, his new studio dedicated to developing RPGs and RPG hybrids. I refuse to get a Discord account, where most of the devs are waiting for feedback. I started another game, ground enough to get max squad, and jumped right to the end by finding a convoy that was just a tank and 1 mech with gear that didn't match the situation of being swarmed by shotguns/shields. I could tell something was off when my workshop level went up twice in a row before I had put on any new gear, because it didn't fit my team setup. The end of the current story is 16 at the capital. The level scaling of gear 14 levels above you is like 8-10 times the HP, and 5 times the damage.įor reference, the highest level province is 28. You could just go back to where you started if you are a completionist, and steamroll everything while ignoring the mechanics of the game with overpowered gear. So you exploit this by taking your generic high level common gang to a province a level or two down from where you are for easy wins and gear/mods. Sure, it is common rarity gear, you would rather have rare gear and rare detachable mods. You can pick one fight a dozen levels above you that you have tilted in you favor, then fully outfit the team in gear of that level. What is your level determined by, however? It is by your highest level victory. The workshop from the base allows you to build common rarity items at your level. Don't you have to grind this out and risk losing everything like 35 more times to really make it work? Does it hurt to be so dumb?" You haven't even outfitted one mech fully.
"You got a marksman rifle 14 levels above you, along with an arm and some legs. By exploiting the flow of time along with strength in numbers, it is a feasible victory.
#Phantom brigade update 9 full
You can drive all the way to the endgame once you have a full team, and save scum your way to to getting a convoy you outnumber 2:1. Attack squads are seldom, and I think they spawn less if you wiggle in between provinces. The purpose of convoys seems to be making the transition to a higher level smoother by giving you a battle with less badguys. What if you raid a one star convoy 14 levels above you and win like I just did? You would still get some godly gear for the situation. Obviously, you wouldn't drive to the final battle because you would get stomped. The AI will spawn attack squads you can evade to some degree. The map seems to allow you to drive anywhere. You can float around a province and raid convoys at or a tad above you gear wise, or move into a province a level above you to almost promise better gear. Every province on the world map has gear +/-1 of labeled level. Gear is leveled like in Diablo or Destiny.
So, what is the problem? The loot system involves risk, which is normally cool but is broken here. Showing mercy to surrendering mechs means more intact gear for you, but you will need it when the humiliated pilots come back in bigger mechs. Rumor has it there will be some sort of nemesis system added in later.
Enemy pilots also eject pods if the situation gets too scary for them. In fact, your loot from them can be destroyed in battle if you overshoot them. You kill bad bots and get pieces of them to put on your guys. Given the theme of the game, this is perfectly fine. So this is a mech customizing game, obviously.
